William Bain (25 Jan 1852 - 25 May 1933)
William Bain was christened on the 25 January 1852 at Alva, Stirlingshire, Scotland to parents John Bain and Margaret McLaren.
William Bain came to Australia with his parents in 1855 when he was 2. William's father, John Bain, "a remarkably quiet, steady man" was killed within 3 years after arrival whilst at work on a property known as Glen Para when a log cross cut by him and another, rolled unexpectedly onto him as he ran to escape it. This must have had a serious effect on little William and the rest of the family. Many Bains reside in Williamstown still today and Jinny would often want to visit her relatives there.
They had the following children:
Thomas William - Born 30 January 1871 at Aldinga, South Australia. Died 1951.
John - 6 February 1873 at Victoria Creek, South Australia. Died September 1944.
James - Born 11 November 1874 at Williamstown, South Australia.
Archibald - Born 10 August 1876 at Laura, South Australia. Died 16 December 1955.
Louisa - Born 4 July 1878 at Stone Hut, South Australia. Married name Plester. Died 7 August 1953.
Albert (Bert) - Born 8 June 1880 at Tarcowie, South Australia. Married Sarah Jane Marriot.
Margaret Ann (Annie) - Born 8 August 1882 at Appila Tarcowie, South Australia.
Keneth Henry MacDerwin - Born 1 August 1884 at Yarrowie, South Australia. Married Mary Ann Mead.
Percy Allen - Born 8 September 1886 at Appila Tarcowie, South Australia.
Robert McLaren - Born 7 July 1888 at Nr Williamstown, South Australia.
Jane (Jinny) - 16 May 1890 at Yatta Creek, Williamstown, South Australia. Died 30 Mar 1968. This is my great Grandmother.
Myrtle Ida (Ida) - Born 9 October 1891 at Yatta Creek, Williamstown, South Australia.
Gilbert Pascoe. Born 5 November 1892 at Yatta Creek, Williamstown, South Australia.
In "The Advertiser" newspaper dated Tuesday 21 September 1909 it states: "W A Pascoe and W Bain both of Williamstown acted as a delegate for Williamstown at the 25th annual conference in connection with the Churches of Christ in South Australia at the Adelaide Town
Hall."
In "The Advertiser" newspaper dated Thursday 25 May 1933 it states: "BAIN: On the 24th May, at his residence, Wheaton Road, Plympton. William, beloved husband of the late Jane Bain aged 81 years. For ever with the Lord." William Bain died on the 25 May 1933 at Wheaton Road, Plympton, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia.

Jane fell pregnant with a child that was born on 30 January 1871. The child's name was Thomas William Bain. Thomas was born at Aldinga, South Australia, Australia.
