William Smith (27 October 1859 - 6 March 1950) ROBERT AND LUCY SMITH'S CHILD

William Smith was born on 27 October 1859 to parents Robert Smith and Lucy Smith (nee Dore) at Burghfield (pronounced Berf-field) Common, Berkshire, England. Robert is listed as an Agricultural Labourer.

On 31 December 1879 he married Laura Dyer at Reading, Berkshire, England. William is listed as a letter carrier.  Witnesses to the marriage were Albert Smith and Mary Dore. They were both living at Chatman Court.  Laura Dyer's father is unlisted but his occupation is a soldier.

In the 1911 Census, William is found, aged 52, married and a general labourer.  He is living with Laura his wife, Mabel his daughter 16, William 12 and Herbert 7.

William died in 6 March 1950 at the Wokingham Hospital, Wokingham.  At the time he is listed as living at 37 Northcourt Avenue, Reading and his occupation was a Retired Time Keeper at a Biscuit Factory.

He died from Hypocardial Degeneration.
